Portrait in Red Chinese Coat 1955

£ 2,000.00

Tom Cross is not well known for his portraiture, but this piece is typical of a series of portraits and self-portraits he produced during his time at the Slade School of Art 1953-56, showcasing the wide range of styles and approaches he undertook through his training: 'if you did not get something from this rich mixture the problem was with you' ('Helford: A River and Some Landscapes', Halsgrove, 2005, p128).
