The Slade
Tom studied at the Slade School of Art n London in 1953 to 1956 as a postgraduate student after studying architecture then switching to Fine Art at Manchester School of Art. He was President of the Slade Society and awarded the Robert Stanbury post graduate scholarship. The move to the Slade was a revelation especially at that time it was the centre of advanced art activity in Britain.
